Certain estate assets and records are held in the name of the trust. Following our deaths, the duly acting successor trustee or trustees should consult the trust documents and written instructions regarding access and administration.

If you are reading this because one or both of us has died, start with the wills. They are intended to guide you to the physical records, digital archive, passwords, and other information needed to carry out our estate plan. When appropriate, work with the successor trustee, personal representative, attorney, financial institutions, and probate court handling the estate.
